Card games for teachers
Card games are a fun way to practice numbers, sets, probability and planning. Every game here works without accounts or ads, so it is easy to use in class.
Projector mode
Press Projector mode under any game for bigger cards and less on the screen. Press it again or Esc to exit. You can also open a game straight in projector mode:
- War in projector mode
- Go Fish in projector mode
- Crazy Eights in projector mode
- FreeCell in projector mode
- Klondike Solitaire in projector mode
Lesson ideas
- War (ages 5+): comparing numbers. Ask students to say which card is higher and by how much.
- Go Fish (ages 5+): sets and memory. Talk about which ranks other players must hold.
- Crazy Eights (ages 6+): matching by suit or rank, and simple strategy: when is it smart to keep an eight?
- Hearts (ages 10+): probability. How likely is it that a player has no clubs left?
- FreeCell (ages 10+): planning ahead. Show a deal on the projector and let the class vote on each move. Use the same deal number for everyone.
- Daily FreeCell: the whole class gets the same deal; compare move counts at the end.
